Adendum to: Roxanne's: "Outdoor Meetup Spot for E.Tolle Silent Meditations"
Regarding Roxanne's post (re: "ideas", Jun 17): I really like the initiative & creativity involved w/ respect to the locale of the venue. I disagree w/ the "goal" documented portion though. The idea HERE is to share & promote Tolle in "whatever" form, so may I recommend select readings from Eckhart Tolle's "Oneness With All Life" ? http://www.amazon.com... All kinds of potential are possible in the flowering of this Act. As Tolle loves the metaphorical relationship of words and ideas & how he so poetically incorporates parables into almost every situation, (thus creating a hypothetical "Satori"); one NOW comes so quickly here- "when a log of wood is burning in a fireplace, & another log is placed close by, it takes so little energy for the second log to burn, after all, it IS the same fire :)) ". That IS the web of Consciousness he speaks about, the Global Transmutation, the potential for "The Peace That Surpasses All Understanding". Hey!!! Like duhhh- until now, I had NO IDEA that passage was not Tolle's, but right from the New Testament: Philippians 4:7 http://bible.cc/phili... |

Hi everyone, I like the idea of meeting in Golden Gate Park, and even having a picnic. While I do like and appreciate the silent time of our meetups, I really think that we should take advantage of our experiences, and share these in the context of Eckhart's teachings. So i like Steven's idea about discussing and commenting on various passages from The New Earth.

Here is Roxanne's Original post in "Ideas" just so it is here in this discussion thread:
"Since the goal is a silent meditation, why not meetup near the AIDS Memorial Grove and have a lite picnic then we can take a short walk down into the grotto - there is a circular stone seating area for about 25 people. The garden is in Golden Gate park so lot's of transportation options, the garden was built and is maintained by volunteers, this solemn spot offers a fantastic chance for spiritual reflection in a totally natural setting! The garden is at the intersection of Bowling Green Drive and Middle Drive East in GGP phone (415) 750-8340. We could meet there weekly over the summer and may even want to meet there year round. It's a beautiful, peaceful, quiet option that allows for before or after conversational portions for those who desire it. One note - as it's heavily treed, it's at least 10 degrees cooler than the sunny sections of the park so do bring a light jacket." The response to this idea has been fantastic, and all the additional input and suggestions have been terrific! I think we can go forward with this. Edited by Julia on Jun 20, 2010 12:25 PM |
